Thought I would add this as well. A very simple, very old explanation of why diffs are required and how they work.

Brilliant!
Shall print that off for further perusal so I can get it to sink into my Southern 'grey matter!' Thanks! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Nice Harleys.
Now, it sounds like the ETC would compensate for the lack of axle dif? Boldly going nowhere Discovery 3 after a Defender 110 Crew Cab TD4 and a 1964 SIIA 88 Regular. |

I checked all the difs on my horse this morning, they all work fine.
Of course, in a pirouette, the dif is working pretty hard. Boldly going nowhere Discovery 3 after a Defender 110 Crew Cab TD4 and a 1964 SIIA 88 Regular. |

'Real' LR drivers will tell you that you don't need TC
![]() I've got it on my current one but didn't have it on my last one. You can compensate for lack of TC by changing the way you drive and getting better at reading the conditions. TC is for people like me who are pretty rubbish ![]() + New Defender 110 First Edition |
