Replace, for me. As I would cut the old arm off, if it did not come off easy. Otherwise you just knacker the seals in the steering box. Don't ask how I know Big Cry

I'm using the Gywn Lewis setup, where balljoint is on rod not arm, much better.

landy andy is right. It can be a hell of a struggle getting the old one off, save the steering box, cut the old one and replace with parts from your favourite supplier!

Andy.

I have just done this job... What a pain.... But i did find a great tool to get the drop arm off - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neilsen-Pitman-Arm...amp;sr=8-3 - This fits perfectly over the top of the drop arm and the bottom of the steering box. Tighten it up and give the arm a good whack at the ball joint end of the arm... BANG... off it comes. A big tip I got off of a US forum is to brace the arms of the pitman puller with a G-clamp to stop the arms slipping off or breaking, worked a treat and the puller is ready for the next time.

Do not bother using heat or WD40 they do not work. I have the pictures somewhere, I sprayed the arm of days and it didn't penetrate more than a few mm. Pointless.

Another tip is if you do fit a new ball joint is to throw away the next to useless rubber boot retaining spring, useless. Instead use a fine soft wire to keep the rubber boot on, loop it around the boot and twist good and tight. Trim the excess wire off and you are good to go.
