To be honest, Europe has the same issues, they just get on with it and live with the temporary inconvenience without the "British" moaning. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Surely you're not blaming the council for a horse getting stuck? Poor thing though, hope it's all ok. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

^^ ^^ But are they? Wait until 01 January 2014 when there'll be a mass stampede from Bulgaria and Romania. Mind you don't get trampled in the melee! I wish I was there, sounds like simple problems.... Here, today they served Pineapple crumble...... Yes, PINEAPPLE crumble. Who the puts PINEAPPLE in a crumble..... there really are some sick minds around- bad enough putting the devil's apple on pizza
I heared something on the news today (New guy insists on BFBS radio). Apparently immigrants can only claim benefits for the first 6 months? WTF..... they should have to work every day for 6 months to even be considered for any form of benefit. Rant over Glyn p.s. I am off sunbathing tomorrow |

As far as this being a democracy goes yeah i can vote out the current incumbent party but you have to be kidding if you think they actually bother themselves with which roads get cleared that is the remit of an unelected middle manager, the only time an elected official has any say is to make sure their personal drive gets cleared. Oh and i know this to be true from having worked for them in a past life.
As for our friends on the continent don't for one minute think they complain less than us they are merely more militant and get the result they want rather than us brits whom seem to roll over and accept what our government say and don't do anything about it if we don't like it. As for the snow the road in question remains closed today so it is not just me that suffers but all the commuters who use it As a rat run have all had to go the long way round so god knows how much their bosses and companies have lost due to them being late to work. And finally a general dig at those townies who don't think farmers are particularly necessary or productive just remember that the countryside is nothing more than an open air factory and ask your self what would you do if it closed down. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon. |

Find the nearest stable and eat a horse. Probably find the stable's already empty! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Around here the council are struggling to keep the main roads clear.
Yes they have been ploughing them but half an hour after ploughing it the road can be down to one lane or less. Police have closed the road several times in last few days Our local road is only passable in one direction due to the action of local farmer with tractor and bucket. There are sections of local roads with a single drift on them. Slight problem is the drift is 400-800 yards long. These roads will have to be dug out as it is difficult to plough them. Biggest problem are the shall we say people who have temporary control of a motor vehicle but have left their brains back at home. The number of abandoned vehicles on roads around here is quite high but there was no real need for people to drive these minor roads as a 5/10 minute detour would have seen them on their way. Farmers around here are struggling to get food and water to their stock. However they have additional problems due to people parking slap bang in the middle of the road as in their judgement no one could possibly drive down it. Along comes farmer in tractor or 4x4 and can not get to fields due to inconsiderate parkers. Brendan |

Which road is it? Nothing listed as closed in Harrogate area on BBC or Stray FM travel news , although yesterday evening it did say Leathley to Beckwithshaw closed. My bro in law farms at Beckwithshaw and keeping fingers crossed they are OK with the lambing and not lost any... As for the council in our area - as I understand in April last year the responsibility for gritting and ploughing passed from Borough Council to the County Council. Can't decide if it was a better or worse service this year. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/ Yorkshire Off Road Club - http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net |
