Beaches
Hi all,

Does anyone know of any beaches where you can legally drive?

I know there are some out there, but I just don't know which ones?

Anyone got any that they know of?

Cheers in advance. An engine to TDi for!

We go to Black Rock Sands all the time near Porthmadog. gets very busy in summer, but out of season we go kite bugging on there and we launch the jet ski from there too.

Cheers Greeni, Porrthmadog is only about an hour and a half away, which isn't too bad! Very Happy Can you drive all the way around it, or is it just a little section that you're allowed to? An engine to TDi for!

It's about 2 mile long and all drivable, there is some soft spots where few have got stuck/lost their cars... Just take heed to the signs. Plenty of camping next to the beach too, we go there a lot, perhaps to much Laughing

As far as I remember, Middleton Sands, just outside Morecambe is ok but it does have the odd spot of quicksand. I learnt to drive there in the olden days before I was old enough to drive. Also seem to think you can take a vehicle onto the sands at Ainsdale by Southport but you need to keep an eye open for horses - that was where Red Rum trained.

Would that be a Byway Open To All Traffic (BOAT)?? Very Happy

LRO did a feature on it a few years ago. Apparently there's an employed guide who will help you get across. 2012 Defender Utility Wagon
