Contact the seller - apologise, say you made a mistake - auction can then be cancelled, they get their fees back - no-one loses out.
This assumes that the seller will be reasonable. If not, they can't leave bad feedback for buyers anymore anyway.

I foolishly bought a Mark 2 Jag by mistake rather than back out. I really wish I had said sorry and pulled out rather than buy the damn thing.

Be courtious and explain carefully to the seller. If there has been multiple bids (I assume a bidding auction) then they still have the option to give a second chance offer to the next bidder. Also if you haven't given any feebcak now they won't be keen to give you a poor feedback as you'd likely do the same. As above explain sort it out and hopefully that will be it and if they give a good feedback to you and only if they do first then re-turn it and jobs a good un' Thumbs Up $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Been there got the teeshirt. A simple nice apologetic email to the seller is usually enough. If it is a proper auction then most people are by and large still the reasonable type we all like to think we are ourselves. If it is a commercial seller then you have rights anyway.

It's actually this one you want:-

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/cancel-transaction-process.html

You could try saying that it was your three-year-old son who actually made the bid - that seems to work sometimes!
