| Another vacuum pump design? | |
Hi,
I am preparing a "remote" trip to Kaokoland & Angola.
To give you some background, I am driving the new Puma (bought in 2008) and I am now busy with my 4th (sic!) vacuum break pump. The latest one is supposed to have this famous "double seal" construction.My last three pumps (earlier model) gave way in the Namib desert, probably, as states LR, due to dust intrusion.
So, to make sure, I have just ordered a spare vacuum pump (new double seal design) just in case my current one lets me down again...
I hear however of a "third" version which makes me quite weary as, if true, could mean that the double-seal design is just not good enough...
Can anyone give me the exact situation and, if confirmed, the exact part number under which the "latest" design needs to be ordered..?.
My dealer (near Durban, South Africa) tells me that he is unaware of any new development in this regard.

Hi i think the latest one is number 30 G 09 on the pump 
had mine replaced on the 30 September 09 hope this helps NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY
