X box in car?
Did a quick search here and didn't find anything...
So, quickly, anyone put an x box or other in car for the kids to play around on on those long overland trips? i am sure that there would be some issues with skipping over bumps...
i was thinking wiring it to the rear feed, depending on voltage ampage etc and then hooking it up to video monitors .
Sound doable or is this a pipe dream? 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately)

These days it would be quicker and easier to fit a tablet - iPad, Nexus etc - and then wire up from USB power points - Mudstuff do 12v/5v USB sockets for 20 that do the power conversion for you.

we picked up an ipad and a kindle fire hd at the weekend, impressed with both. Especially the kindle, clear screen for reading books but also a lot of apps are available.. #2 son playing minecraft on it most of the weekend

I guess if an in-car Xbox was a must have, you should consider changing the HDD to an solid state drive

As-well as disks getting damaged by movement which they are extremely prone to damage they also like to cook themselves often or not and over heat and that's even at a constant temperature in the home and not in a confined space. Personally I'd never consider it as they just aren't robust enough to take it IMO. In past years I got though about 5 under warranty where they kept over heating and packing up. One hobby I'm glad I gave up. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

At the risk of sounding controversial...

Putting an X-box or anything else in a overlanding vehicle is a complete fail!!!! Buy your children a bird book, a mammal book, a pair of binoculars and natural history book... teach them to look out the window and appreciate the natural beauty of the world they live in!!! It might be difficult at the beginning but they will thank you in the future.

Secondly those gandgets just dont belong in a land rover...
