Improving Comfort on Hard Compacted Ground
Hi Guys, my 110 is stock in terms of suspension, I guess heavy duty springs and normal shocks.. The ground here in spain is either deep mud when it rains, which I have covered with a set of BFG KM2's and when the mud dries, it turns into rock hard corugated and rutted ground - tons of potholes on and offroad.

Ive read a few threads about using different shocks and springs, but having never replaces these items on a car before, I have no idea what difference they make, if any.

Having said all that, I want to make the ride less jarring on potholes and a bit more comfortable, but of course I dont want to compromise the cars overall capabilities.

Can anyone suggest a formula that might do the trick?

How about the "airbags" you can fit inside the springs - looking for the thread now... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Better shock absorbers will help enormously. There are lots of threads on this but try a search for 'Koni'. Darren

Excuse my ignorance... but what will happen if i get some Koni shocks? will it reduce the bang/crash head-shaking that normally occurs? reduce by a lot. or just a bit?

Essentially, yes. They are more responsive as they are gas pressurised. Do a search though, as there is lots already written. Darren

my 90 is usually running light and was greatly improved by changing to Koni and replacing the rear HD springs with standard LR road springs. BM52

Just an idea - I wasn't exactly sure exactly what you wanted but it's the only way I know of to change from soft to hard suspension on a daily (hourly) basis (especially if you have softer springs)... and it's pretty cool Whistle Thumbs Up Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Do you have it?

Also, anyone know which Koni shocks?

Heavy Track. Not the 'Raid' version, which are much more expensive and overkill for the majority of users. Darren

You didn't do a search, did you?

Typically, 90-95 each. Try Paddocks or site sponsor Defenderbits to see which can do the best deal for you, if you intend to order from the Uk. Darren
