New 110
I joined this forum in 2011 shortly before buying my first defender, a 90TD5

With the desire to start travelling, the need for a 110 meant that the 90 had to go. With the TD5 recently sold, yesterday I picked up the new 110

A 110 utility XS with

Warn winch
Soft A bar
Optional wheels
SVX grill and light surrounds
Work light
Chequer plate and few other bits.

Parts sat waiting to be fitted
JW Speaker headlights
Rear door strut
SS bolt kit

Will be updating the thread as I go along.

Tell you what, with that SVX front end the 110 is truly deserved of the name "BEAST" makes the front end look very aggressive.

You'll really appreciate the extra capacity of the 110 when traveling, just makes everything a little less cramped. Although it also means you can fill it with more stuff you may or may not need...

I am off in my 110 through France and Spain in May and I cannot wait, been planning for months. The 110 is currently in a state of refurb and shortly due to have a big ol service...

For me, my original quest was a grey utility and then this came up. Generally I'm not a fan of black cars and don't like the stealth look, so the plain chequer plate suits my needs.

An uncoated roof rack will be fitted to complete the look

I was originally looking at all black, but decided to go natural with the roofrack in black with natural runners. I'm still undecided and now thinking of taking it all off and having it treated in GunMetal.

So within the first 150miles the rear mud flap has ripped straight off of 1 bolt taking the bodywork. Lets hope that's not a start of things to come and is picked up by warranty!

So first couple of tasks out the way. Sound proofing the rear.

Before

Carpets out and clean in progress

Dynamat down

All trim, nuts and bolts rust treated and back together

Out for a drive and it's so much better, only problem now the noise up front is noticeable and so will be done soon.

Last job was a clean and wax of the inside doors and latches.
