I reckon it would be good to stop scratches from branches but using the clear coloured spray, it is very hard to keep the same colour. It becomes more matte like. If you are wanting to retain the colour of your defender, Helicopter tape might be a shout? I use it on my mountain bike frames and prevents damage to the frame from stones and branches and is completely invisible. Question

Thanks LR Sam.
Where would you recommend getting that tape from then? Does it come in sheets or some other form? Haven't heard of it before.
Colour of the landie is Stornoway grey so would be keen to protect it without any other change to appearance in the colour.
Do quite a bit of laning and keen to find ways of stopping scratching up the paintwork too much. Don't want to stop taking her out in the rough stuff though although I think a few battle scars is needed on a defender.

Have 3M stuff on my other car, although coloured rather than clear. Stands up really well to stone chips and light scratching - not sure how great it would be for heavy laning or anything too thorny - might start looking quite tatty quite quickly. Think it costs something in the region of £10-£20/sq. m 2013 Defender 110 XS DCPU

As the above 2 posts have suggested 3M is good quality stuff, have a look at their website or ebay. Thumbs Up

Well Whistle Laughing Laughing The plastidip isnt the worlds greatest product and i wouldn't recommend it on any off road car Wink After finishing one complete side stepping back and sending a photo to my customer he loved the Matt black but i said to him that the plastidip just wont be durable/practical for offroading Big Cry So he came down and saw it for himself. And Yesterday and today the 90 has been completlty stripped and he wanted us to paint it with proper paint Whistle so thats what we have done Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Great result just need to fit the bits on now Mr. Green
