Got the 'reworked' bumperette back today from the fabricators. The straight brackets were removed and new shaped ones manufactured and rewelded onto the bumperette. The new brackets will pick up the crossmember mounting holes of the swing away itself. Maybe tomorrow's job to fit if the weather's kind.

Was in Poole Port last week and picked up a rotten mudflap bracket with the mudflap still attached. Never one to let anything go to waste it has given me an idea for an extra layer of security for my spare wheel. Cut the emblem from the mudflap and sourced some 3mm stainless steel. Bits have now gone to the same fabricator for some laser cutting and I shall let you know how I get on......'Work in progress'

Bumperette fitted after spending considerable time polishing out the old weld marks where the brackets used to be and the 'pickling' marks from the welding process....

Original picture no longer available.

Pictures reloaded as requested to aid fitting. Any issues 'pm' me please. Good luck.

There are several aftermarket spare wheel locks available but they will not fit with many types of swingaway carrier. Here is a link to another idea that has to date worked for me.
