Another Thumbs Up for Koni Heavy Tracks.

I got mine from Paddocks last summer - prices were considerably cheaper than Devon back then so check out both before buying. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

OME are great, I did consider them at the same time as the heavy track..... but then again I would have preferred the Koni Raids over the OME and HT... I guess it is all about your budget and exactly what driving you do. I have heard bad things about the OME sport when on the road without any load. I do like the fact you can adjust the Koni HT as it makes driving with and without a load as pleasurable.

Switzerland 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
Land Rover do not produce dampers themselves, anyone knows which brand and make they are using as original equipment for the Puma?
I am pretty happy with my original damper and shocks setup on the SVX, but also have heard that the SVX may be having a premium product compared with standard Station Wagons. All hearsay of course, and can obviously not compare with Koni's or other.
I may have to change the rear set up in the not too distant future as the Swiss MOT last Sep (first tech control which in Switzerland is at 4 years old) told me that my rear suspension was at the limit, still just ok, so I got a clear bill..... Next MOT is at 7 years, not sure I want to wait that long.
All a bit of a mistery, as got nothing in writing from them as to what "just within the limit" actually means, and when I told my dealer afterward, they obviosly downplayed it all.
Another question, is it normal that my SVX which never been used off road, which maybe 3 times in 4 years has been carrying a heavy load well within the tolerance, at 60k km is showing rear suspension fatigue? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

I wonder how ther test them? I would expect many years and over 100k miles if used lightly. It could be that the bushings are the issue? Did they elaborate on whet the problem was?

My last Disco2 had it's original rear shocks for 10 years and 186000 miles, but I believe the bushings were replaced under warranty... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

I fitted Koni Heavy Tracks all round on my 300tdi Disco which I used for overland trips. Went all through the Atlas mountains and through the dunes in Sahara and they performed really. I was carrying a fair bit of extra weight, winch, rooftent etc.

I would highly recommend them and when the time comes to replace the ones on the Defender will be fitting Konis. Thumbs Up
