got me a new gearbox. but then......i noticed this (while I was sorting the carpets out) Click image to enlarge haven't taken all the carpets out etc but basically its the transmission tunnel. I'm told they only have one bolt either side but clearly it would appear there should be two either side (am I being blagged?). |

there's been a few letters...
although I've mentioned a new vehicle its come to nothing - perhaps I've not pushed enough but having spoken to consumer advice etc it would appear if I ask for a swap or refund - they are only obliged to give me what my vehicle is worth now......so I might just as well put it up for sale. financially thats not a routed I can afford / want to take. had the g.box replaced so need to use it for a bit now and see how things lie......once I've replaced a few bolts !! |

I thought you were advised to stop looking for issues
Anyway never mind a missing screw here and there, how is the new gearbox? Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I've recently removed my interior including the transmission tunnel and all the bolts were in place, they've certainly left some out !

mog
the new gear box is nice and shiney.......is that what you meant? I've not commented because I'm not sure - the jury is still out as they say but since you asked - driving home seemed great. drove to brum and almost back and all seemed fine until a couple of junctions from home....so now I'm not entirely sure. what I have noticed tho this there doesn't appear to be any drag / wobble like warped disk brakes any more and bizzarely when I pushed my car on the drive the otherday it seemed lighter like the brakes weren't dragging??? so....off to see it I can get some more bolts |
