I am sure Td5's of that era came with 265 Bfg's from the factory before being superceded by the sausage wrap GG TR. Freestyles = 265 bfg Boosts = 235 GG tr

I run 265/75/16 BFG A/T's & 235/??/16 BFG muds, all on boost alloys on my 90, Keep on AT's through out the year & onto muds when i need to.
I'm lucky to have the space to store the wheels when not in use. Jason Getting there, slowly.. |

Helpful stuff guys appreciate the comments.
I was also wondering about steering/sump guards, Worth having for greenlaning etc? What's best steel or aluminium? One piece or multiple? Maybe some pictures if possible to see what the different styles look like on. Thanks! |

I've never had or needed (yet) either a steering guard or sump guard on any of my Defenders for laning. Having said that, a mate did badly bend his steering on his Discovery whilst we were out laning together a few years back and I will get a steering guard at some point. There's some very nice looking Aluminium guards about but if you want it for "go" rather than "show", I would pick a steel one.
If your going to use it for laning I would invest in some diff guards first. You're a lot more likely to contact the ground with your diffs than with your steering IMO and whilst steering rods can usually be straightened after a fashion to get you home, a hole in your diff pan (they're only thin) or a mashed up diff is a lot harder (and more expensive) to fix. |

Perhaps I'll get a diff guard and see how it goes and if I feel like it is vulnerable to rocks and dips then ill look at fitting a steel sump guard. 2000 TD5 90 'Lemmy' Happy Roving! |

Decided, once I can afford it I'm going for 265/75r16 BFG A/T on black challenger steel wheels. 2000 TD5 90 'Lemmy'
