I am running on BFG AT's but if you are doing that much road work then take a look at Pirelli Scorpion STR's.

Cooper ST Maxx seem to have good road handling, quiet and comfortable too.

Before I got my defender, I had General Grabber ATs on a Disco, very good indeed on road and OK on limited off- road. Wear rate was excellent.

+1 Very quiet and wear well but still look the biz Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Have Continental Cross Contact LX, made for 80% road use. Perfect for me because I mainly use her for long distance on road driving. Used them few times at the beach at the NorthSee though, quiet ok then. Good on wet roads too. They have M+S winter rating, but use 'real' Nokian wintertires in same 265 dimension

They look good in 265
The 235s mine came with were just too tame Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

same opinion, swapped to 265 right away at first spring after purchasing, used the 235s as winter tires for the first months, but weren't to good for that use
