Your friend Google
I decided to have a hunt around on Google after being flumoxed tring to wire a wireless remote to my winch. I have replaced my old chinese thing that, give it it's due has done the job over the last 6 or 7 years but replaced it with a new to me bigger T-max my mate was selling. As there was no wiring diagam I looked up on the T-max site and sorted that then the wander lead cable was a matter of trying all the combinations possible and it worked. Today postie delivered one of those cheap as chips wireless remotes so popped the bonnet shoved the wires in the same connections as the existing wander lead, no go. Swopped and faffed for ages and still no go, so went back indoors for a coffee and a sit in front of the computer. After fimding threads from 5 years ago I twigged that the polarity on the triggering of the solonoid was reversed, the wireless remote receiver was clicking but no action at the winch. Just been out and 10 minutes later all working and me a happy bunny, just had to jiggle the wires round on the wander lead to match but all working Thumbs Up
Just goes to show that with a bit of patience the answer is out there Thumbs Up

The irony is I've just replaced a T-Max winch with a Chinese made one and its identical. I don't mean similar, I mean identical albeit newer, shinier and better sealed. The castings etc. are the same.

I know, don't buy Chinese cos they are rubbish, but the T-Max served well so how can this be any different given it's the same? I was told they are all from the same factory anyway!

Andy.

I would probably have bought a copy winch, I don't use it every day but it's damned handy to have it hung on the front. I don't use it very often for recovery, it allways seems a bit daft to go and get stuck for the sake of it, ithas been used in so many different situations, moving farm equipment around, fencing, straightening up wooden buildings, pulling my side steps back into a more useable position after an enthusiastic days laning in North Wales. The winch has been put to good use moving field shelters for horses, much more controlled than just dragging them, people get a bit snotty if the shelter has a new entrance in the end Embarassed
