If you had a lower end fault reader such as a Scangauge could you possibly scan and clear the designated code for the Oil Service light to extinguish it? Maybe a question for Lorryman perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I wonder if the oil service light is a 'condition' light or a periodic one? Clearing the code (if it has one) would surely just reset it not turn it off? My old BMW had a 'recocking' tool.
The dealers obviously reset it (well sometimes anyway) wonderwhat the method is and how it's done? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I had to take it back to Matfords at 14thou when it came on after a 12thou service and it was also serviced at 23thou and the warning came back on at 27thou and has been on ever since, needs it 36 soon so i will see if they can be bothered this time as they obviously did not on Sat even though they downloaded a whole new thinggy to it.
Still running way better than ever before. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Hope its not diluting your oil, we need to find out if the Defender DPF is a diffrent system on regen than the Freelander2 otherwise ignoring the service oil light may be bad. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

Ok then been out on the road all week and the 90 is a whole lot better but could still do with a giant kick up the arse, fuel consumption for me is margionally better 20miles a tank average this weeks 5 tanks. No perormance improvements on the motorway but the sweet spot has changed from 72ish down to 68 ish but pulls way better round town 3rd gear has loads of torque now. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

I have been towing a lot this last week and the new engine software mentioned above is way way better for this, i kept it at 62 all the way home from Bristol last night and was still doing no lower than 30 all the way up Telegraph Hill GVW approx 6.25Tonnes.
Fuel consumption still crap. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.
