Didnt come on at all, but driving tonight the light flashed once over a 120 mile journey, so it really is random.

I can go a whole journey with it not flashing or flashing once if I have the radio on and the phone not plugged into the lighter socket. As soon as I do plug the phone in I get a double flash then it might behave for as much as 30 minutes before the light show begins |

mine is one long flash (1 or 2 seconds long) and it only is once in a blue moon.

Mine started doing this - and I can now reproduce the random flashing. It seems to occur only in the underground car park at the local shopping center - so I reckon it must be picking up some external interference from either another vehicle, or perhaps in the shopping center itself.

Same on mine. Randomly, alhthough, somehow I get the idea if it lights up for a second, it's usually when I'm slowing down for the slow corners.
Can't imagine the battery will be low as I have the car for less than 2 months. |

Hey Landrover, if you are monitoring the sites please look into this. Something must be causing it!

Mine also does totally randomly and generally flashes very quick but tonight it stays lit for a few seconds. Has anybody made any progress finding a cause?

The Defender will be off to the dealer coming Monday to get a part changed. Haven't asked what it was, but I'll let you know if they get this problem solved.
Have to say, I didn't really mind the light flashing once in a while, but as the Defender is under warranty, I might as well get it fixed. |

Mine did this the other day too.. One long flash (around one second).. Just long enough for you to go "what was that?"... Mine is also a 2.2 13my Defender. It doesn't matter how bad it is, It can always get worse...
