Find the axle weight in the book and then halve it, that's what it "needs".
The Wolf/HD wheel is probably the best bet if you're going to fully load it. Pretty well indestructible. In non-warzone scenarios anyway! |

good plan. just looked it up in my manual and its 2200kg max load for the rear axel.
zu rims are rated at 1400kg but are only 7j... would like to run some 275's, and the other problem, zu rims are 11mm offset, would like 0mm offset and then i wouldnt have to run spacers..... |

That isn't correct. On road you will be cornering where more weight will be transferred to the outer wheels (probably only to the extent of 20% more or so) Off road you could cross axle it where the whole of the front axle weight is on one wheel and the rear on the opposite side wheel. Therefore if your max axle weight is 2200Kg, your wheels should also be rated to 2200Kg. Glyn |

That can't be right either, Glyn. The max rear axle load for a 110 is around 1750kgs from memory, but the standard Boost alloy is only rated at 1050kgs. Darren

Remember that LR give you the option of wheels when buying.
Before Land Rover had the HD pack where they swap the Boosts for the HD rims, HD rear diff and the stronger rear springs. For road use fully laden you are on the limit with boost alloys- before you even turn you are at 90% of the wheels safe working limit........ Is it worth it? Boosts were the first things to go on mine for a set of Tx alloys rated at 1400Kg each (I know I will not go over that weight when off-road). Glyn |

interesting.
im never really going to put the 130 in the postion of all the weight on either front or rear wheel when fully loaded. but i cant find any alloy rims with a higher load rating than 1550kg.... SGH - im prob going to end up with zu rims but they are 11mm offset. you can run 0mm offset and therefore have 11mm more steering lock or bigger wheels... without the aid of spacers. |

I was amazed to see in a recent copy of LRM a Mechanic who used a Quadtech 130 as a mobile workshop fitted with boosts. That's the sort of thing that would put me right of using a mechanic. |
