200,000 miles and 11 years, still going strong on original pump (TD5 Disco 2).

Perhaps it's another one of those LR parts that only last if you exercise them day in day out

Probably helps if you don't let the tank run low as well.

Hmmmmm, no real pattern evident. Might just chance it on. They're fairly expensive pieces of kit to buy and not use.

Don't buy a pattern one!
(I think they're genuine parts that failed the noise test.) ![]() ![]() |

in the past i have dropped the tank on a 110 and a 90 also cut out the rear floor to both, after doing it both ways ,i found the task the same, time wise, about 1.5 hours,i am not the type who potters on with the car normally my car goes to garage for any work, due to my lack of basic mechenics skills, but i have done the pump a few times and found it easy,i think that anyone with this job to do should remove the tank to do job,but while tank is out take the oppertunity to cut a panel in the rear floor and fit a panel above the pump for next time,

You have to remove a stiffening rib, thereby weakening the floor. ![]() |

true but this did not bother me the access to the pump seemed to be more important ,i did fit a panel to it like a disco 2 ,then the mobil storage drawer sat on top of that |
