Wiring behind O/S/R lamps, what does it do? or a Wiring diag
Hi all, Behind the off side rear lamps on my 03 TD5 DCPU, there are a number of unused connections, some of which are permanently live. Does anyone know what they do? I want to put a cigar socket here, and was wondering if I can use one of these connections for a +ve.

Thaanks Thumbs Up

There will be a permanent live anyway, then there will be the feeds for all the gubbins for the rear door if your motor was a station wagon such as high level brakelight, wiper, perhaps central locking, heated rear window etc.

I think the purple and black one is +permanent for a work light and there's others there which would feed rear speakers
Or up under plastic cover in rear wheel arch is a plug for the tow bar connection which has one also It's good to be back from the dark side

I took a chance, and wired a socket into the purple and black, glad to know I've probably got it right

Good work folks!

Thumbs Up

Thank you.
