had meeting and didn't walk exactly walk away inspired however I've hopefully mis-interpretted that?
What I can say is LR appear to be moving heaven and earth to ensure I walk away happy. Having recieved letters from the hirachy within LR and telephone conversations I quietly confident that things will be just fine. the car is now better than its ever been and I believe once a couple of minor issues are resolved it leaves just one issue (rattly noise - I'd originally always thought this to be engine related however I now believe it to be transmission). this issue may well be me however I'm sure it is intermittent. there appears to be two rattly noises; - rattly noise at roughly 2k rpm which sounds a little dampened and I'm sure is quite normal. - other rattly noise is just like above but as if someone has removed sound proofing (if there were some to remove) and is of a higher pitch / more metalic - this is the noise that I don't believe should be there ? hopefully this will get sorted one way or the other soon. I'm trying to get a few test drives in other vehicles (pref not modded ones) to make comparisons so if there's anyone near that can help I'd be very grateful. I've told LR I'd like to do just this so perhaps they'll be able to help.? anyway bottom line is LR are doing a GREAT job of trying to sort. |

blimey having gone back and read what I wrote I'm hardly in a position to complain about LR quality control
any how wasn't very inspired with the meeting I had with LR representative but having recieved a couple of letters and spoken to someone on the phone today at LR I'm VERY impressed with what appears to be a real concern to ensure all is sorted to my satisfaction, I know words can be cheap but to be honest I'm really impressed and confident things will get resolved - the proof however is in the pudding so lets wait and see. If I get the result I'm now expecting I have to take my hat off to LR |

Its too early to say but was outside earlier doing a quick clean under the bonnet and looking at security options and had a quick check of the heat shield ........ the lower two fixing bolts are missing and the heatshield is effectively just resting on the turbo ! Although I've looked at this several times before I seem to recall I've only looked at the top bolts before and I'm pretty sure if I'd looked at the bottom it would only have been one of the two I'd have checked (the one you can see easily).......so until I can find some time to find two new bolts and time to crawl underneath to fix not sure if this is the issue I've had all along ...big (that said LR never noticed this either) so here's me praying all is good and just a couple of bolts to fix. (can anyone tell me if access to the lower heatshield fixings will be from below or above?) - many thanks. |
