LR did a limited edition a while ago (on two separate occasions) called the X-Tech which was in effect an XS Hard Top 90 Smile

On subject of Special Models.
Do you know anything on the spec of the Braemar, which was a limited model launched in Scotland only?

Just found this:

Land Rover's special edition models will only be on sale at dealers north of the border. Appropriately called Braemar, they come in silver paint only (this finish is called, confusingly, Blenheim) with extra Land Rover accessories bolted on to make a suitably cost-effective package for Scottish buyers.

The Discovery Braemar, with the 2.5-litre TD engine, has tinted glass, Playstations, picnic tables, safari lamps and guards, a rear access ladder and 18-inch alloy wheels. It costs £28,995 (manual) or £30,490 (automatic).

The Defender 90 Hard Top Braemar has the 'County Pack', comprising cloth seats, tinted glass, side and rear steps, front mudflaps, spare wheel trim, a sunroof, heated rear window/wash wipe and Freestyle alloy wheels, plus a raised air intake, an A-frame soft nudge bar, Rally 1000 driving lamps and guards, auxiliary wiring, an access ladder, chequer plate kit and a M6000 winch. Just 25 of these will be built, and they are priced at £19,995.

The Freelander Braemar, offered with the 1.8i engine and manual gearbox, comes in three-door hardback or five-door station wagon form (no poncey softback models for the Scots). The three-door (£16,995) has 17-inch alloys, front and rear mudflaps, a wheel nut kit, front and rear lamp guards, side rubbing strips, a single CD player and tinted glass. The five-door (£19,495) has 17-inch alloys, front and rear lamp guards, side rubbing strips, tinted glass and a CD autochanger.

And finally, the Range Rover Braemar, the one to go for if you really want to impress out on the grouse moors, comes with either the 2.5 TD of 4.6 V8 engines and has a wood and leather interior, picnic tables, tinted glass and Playstations. It costs £42,995.
