Whilst I may sympathise with FoD 90's unfortunate experiences with his Puma here is yet another 'positive thread' about the Puma. I stumbled across it whilst removing the 'Rose Tints' he mentioned. Surely all those that have posted can't be wrong???? I think you've just been unlucky and are in a minority. Rose Tints put back where they belong!!!! Luurrrve mine - not a glitch!

Well its back from its slumber party at the dealers, seems ok !! but for how long? is the question so I will be selling before the warranty runs out.

As I need a vehicle that works, without wondering if it has to go back to the Dealers at the end of each week..

I'll never touch a LR product again, honestly is it to much to ask for a company to make a vehicle that works?

They do and have done for years, all makes have their problems, why not just sell up and move to another maker instead of bleating on here all the time. Rolling with laughter Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

Because as I said, i saved my hard earned pennies on what I thought was going to be the Dog Nadngers of a work horse after wanting a Defender for years.

When it works its great I have no quibbles with it, I just wish it worked a bit more often.

Going though other threads I'm not alone with a feeling of disappointment, the feeling of banging your head your head against a wall with main agents and what seems like common faults that should have been sorted in the RD stage of production.

Anyway its always nice to know such supportive people such as yourself offering help and advice Smile)[/i]

I have not had problems like those that I have had with my Puma with any other vehicle since I was 17 and paying £200 for a banger, and whilst I love it dearly, the pathetic after service from Land Rover and some stealers and thier apologists are wearing to say the least. I cannot find other websites that are so continuous in thier complaints of a £26k vehicle. Sadly, most of the faults are well known, clutches, EGR valves etc., but still ignored by LR. To smugly suggest 'well sell it then' just echo's the stealers attitude and does not help to support each other in this forum. Each others experiences help us all to realise that we are not on our own and that the problems are known and we can tackle the stealers with backing and confidence.

Lets support each and get the Puma's sorted before the warrenty runs out. But remember, if you point out problems before the end of warrenty, the stealers are oblidged to get it sorted even if the warrenty ends.

Regards

Chay

No smugness meant or implied, help is given freely all the time when asked for on this forum. This thread is just a moaning thread nothing constructive at all.

Statements like "Never again will I part with my own hard earned cash on LR". and

"I'll never touch a LR product again", are bound to annoy people on here, that isn't asking for support or help.

Some people on here have had good ones some bad, some have owned many Land Rovers and for some it's their first. All questions that have been asked have been answered and assistance given where ever possible, I'm not defending (pardon the pun) Land Rover at all, but it does seem that finding a good knowledgeable dealer makes a big difference especially when like Forest your Land Rover is never out of the dealers. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

Indeed dealers make all the difference, but when its recovered from the roadside they always take it to the closest dealer to my address (not the ones I got it from who I understand has far more dealings with Defenders, than the Range Rover Sport showroom they insist it goes too) this just heightens my frustration..

As I say its great, when its working it ticks all my boxes for a work horse.

As Chay says if all the known and likely faults could be fixed before the Warranty runs out (which is only a few months away) I would be happy..

On the other hand once the Warranty has gone I'm free to take it to a proper Independent LR place and not deal with compulsory Blonde with Orange skin at the front desk...

You can use any dealer you wish doesn't have to be the one you bought it from and I believe (but could be wrong) you can insist that LRA take it to the dealer of you're choice. I'll go on the D3 site and ask for dealer reviews. Excuse my ignorance but what county are you in.
First of all lets find you a proper dealer who will go through the vehicle properly and get it sorted maybe. It's a fact that if you own a Land Rover Defender new type you will have some niggles and Failures mostly on the early ones though, getting a good dealer that understands the issues is paramount and will help restore faith.

Theres a very good dealer at Yeovil, lots of people from all over use them, AndrewS who had his fair share of problems with his last 110 uses them I believe, so at least they will know what you're talking about. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.
