I used 3/4 of a tank
It pull like a train extremely rampant I can honestly say its the fasted defender I've been in and it doesn't seem to notice its hauling 35inch Simex tyres I will give more detail but I'm trying to spend sometime with the other half Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

Well now I have some time I will enlighten you
It's a pleasure to drive it just has so much torque through all the gears you can sit doing 40 in 6th and pull effortlessly to 90+ without changing down Going through the gears you don't need to use 1st but a lot of people don't use 1st in there 2.4s but when you want to get 35s rolling you need all you can so I always use to use first but now second with ease and she still wheel spins in 3/4th You can change gear as low as 1300-1500 rpm and it still pulls No changing down through the gears whilst going up hills it just Carrys on pulling and speeding up For towing I can imagine this being brilliant you could do with an extra gear to make 7th as I went for it a few times on the way home It's just hard getting used to going into round abouts in 3rd and 4th I'm over the moon with it really pleased big thank you to Pete One down side I've got to change he idler pulleys as there mucking some noise but then thinking about it I should have put new on in the first place Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

Would changing to a Disco transfer case be any good?
Maybe early days, but how does the MPG compare the previous engine? if only I had the cash...Maybe if I win the lotto tonight. Sounds an excellent conversion and hopefully a few more will pop up over time. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Puma defenders already have 1.2 transfer boxes you could change it to a 1.0 transfer box but I think you would looses lot of it potential
It's hard to say about the fuel as I'm running the engine in and it's gotmy 35 inch tyres on but I don't think it's any worse Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

I don't think there's a wrong or right way but basically I'm running at 50 then 60 then 70 the down to 60/50 again so the engine is constantly at different revs
