CR you are going to have an awesome time
![]() We did a very similar trip with Safari Drive last August, you have chosen a great company. We too started at Livingstone and finished at Windhoek, no houseboat though (not envious at all ![]() My favorite campsite was Nambwa, very remote and I loved every minute we were there. A Leopard made a kill the first night we were there in the camp!! Here is me having a sundowner at Nambwa with Oswell the Land Rover ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() |

Sounds great - and looks even better! Does anyone have a rough idea of how long it might take to drive there from the UK (via a safe route if possible)? Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....

Sounds awesome, I can't wait to be down there myself.
Looking through Safari Drive's website, seems top notch. Enjoy! My Travel Page |

Just got back from a two week trip to Zambia, Botswana and Namibia.. Had a fab time. The rains came early so everywhere is rather wet and hard going when you're off the beaten track but still great fun. Went through Kafue and spent time in Chobe.. Lots of game there. Wasn't quite as adventurous as my last trip to Botswana when we went through the Central Kalahari and Okavango but was better for game.
We hired vehicles from Hemmingways in Livingstone (though they delivered them to Lusaka airport) - I can't recommend them enough...the vehicles were very new, well kitted out and maintained. Seems like you're planning a big itinery. Careful of the currency change in Zambia... They've dropped three zeros off the notes as of the 1st Jan, so unsuspecting tourists will be prime bait for the old 100 Kwacha note! Let me know if you want any up to date info on routes and camp sites as literally just got back one night ago. |

Ps be sure to take some SA rand... Very useful back up and accepted at most borders for visas and car tax, whereas its hard to get some local currencies outside the country, and the US dollar, whilst great for changing at the banks into local currency, is becoming a lot less widely accepted as payment. Oh and you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere that accepts plastic for fuel, so lots of cash is vital.
