Hi Giova,
I use G90's on my work vehicles. There OK in the dry, but I don't trust them in the wet. I'd definatley change them for winter. Only my opinion though! |

I had a brand new set on my old 90. they were great for the first couple of thousand miles, but once they got a bit worn, they were total rubbish.
god knows why the military got lumbered with them, when the Michelin XZL or XCL is far superior. |

I've used them for about 12.000km and I've seen they are use up more than others tyres I've tryed. But ,for me,the tyre-gum not so "hard" is an advantage (specially for tyre sellers).Probably is expensive 'cause it's neccessary replace them before others models but in 7.50 it's not so much options in my country.

I didn't really drive the G90 yet. I have a set on my 1984 90 which I am dismanteling. I used the XZL's on my Camel the were fine when reasonable new but bloody dangerous when getting worn half way. It looks like the rubber is getting harder half way and you get less traction on wet roads. I could drift my 2.5 ton Camel Disco on wet tarmac.
I channged them for BFG MT's 235 x 85. They are much better. They don't were that fast as the XZL and are much better on and off the road. I drove 45000 miles with them under my camel and now go on my 90 TD5. I will keep the G90's for days we go offroading on rocky area's in belgoum or France when there is big a chanche damaging the tyres. Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |
