I could not believe how quiet it was out there today. We saw SLSLRC and some Jap trucks and we covered quite a bit of ground, from the Larkhill on the east side across to the western side and Tilshed area. We did not go over to Imber as we were told it was busy. We did not see any police or wardens out there today.
But did it RAIN and RAIN and RAIN and RAIN, flippin weather. Like WSD, My alternator has been playing up on the 300 for a few weeks, today finished it off. Still got back safely. I think my mate Mark won quote of the day with "I've never seen so many middle class folk covered in mud" .. Thank you all who made it and I hope it was fun. We do enjoy the plains responsibly but it just takes a few to mess up as we saw the Jap trucks at the SSSI. It's really important to stick to by-ways. For those who attended I will email you a link to the photo share site once i have uploaded them. Special thanks to Vee for providing the entertainment in the afternoon ... you are already a legend |

Awesome day
Thanks to bpman for the best off roading in A very long time!!! Absolutely loved it and a great bunch To Luismi and barbel that last waterhole was a lot deeper than I thought!!! Swamped my bonnet n windscreen but kept my foot down and momentum got me through luckily!!! Didn't do my alternator any good and ran out of battery/lights before I could get to the jet wash at Warminster so called rac who got me there so we could do running repairs to it! Bonnet cable broke too! 110 is now minus engine cover, grille and full of mud inside n out but the old girl still got me home! List stands at. One tax disc lost! One shock absorber broken, alternator, bonnet catch, brakes pedal moving up n down a. Fair bit on braking and a steering shake at 50. Lots for me to fix tomorrow then!!!! 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

I was there but with a different group and had a good day too. Just like a day at home with the weather(that's what living close to Wales gets you ) Whilst busy around the mud hole by the German Village it was a damn site quieter than last year

I can elaborate on the 52 plate G4 as its mine.
It's actually Grey (Stornaway I think) with orange showing through in places, full orange bulkhead and floor. The chap whom had it before me bought it from Nene who apparently bought 5 stripped down G4s from LR. One of them is still there I think. The guy who bought mine had it sprayed, wheels changed etc etc It's due a respray when I get the money together, so if its a keeper I'll have it done the grey again, if I think I'm going to sell it then it'll go orange. I like the G4s but just not sure i want an Orange car on my drive every day. Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful! |
