We had a great time, much power washing required tomorrow.

A big thanks to Steve for organising and great to meet everyone else too.

Please think before going out in wet weather. I've had a call from the MOD Police on Salisbury Plain today to say that they have counted in excess of 80 vehicles within a couple of hours. They went on to say the lanes are trashed and locals have been complaining.

This is irresponsible. If you must go out, remember the ground is totally sodden, so please pick sustainable routes.

Roo Luckett If half of these mindless idiots joined their local ALRC or off road club they could do RTV (or CCV) trials over challenging terrain/deep mud etc and have the fun of healthy competition. Churning up lanes in large numbers after all this rain is just plain irresponsible and gives all us 4x4 owners a bad name....

TreadLightly-UK The MOD Police are going to send us some pictures, so hopefully we can use this to educate people. It's such a shame because we've been working so hard with the MOD, working together and creating new routes and permissive byways. This could send us back to square one.

John Mclaren Don't be too hasty to judge , it seems a lot of people decided today ( holiday weekend ) would be a good day to visit the plains . A lot of these people will be responsible and select appropriate routes ( some will not ) The plains cover 300 square mil...See More

TreadLightly-UK We're only going on what we've been told by the MOD, and the pictures we've been given. I'm sure many kept to sustainable routes, but the ones where these shots were taken are soft and wet at the best of times, and there's a lot of trucks in one place. When I spoke to the MOD this morning I was told many were 'driving like idiots'. Their words.

Dave Heafield Thanks John, it was great fun. Best bit was making the stranded car drivers hook the recovery rope up and seeing the look on their faces when they realised their recovery eye was several inches under water lmao HR064 Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response

To be fair the plains have always looked like that from my experience. Lots of vehicles though.
