They may have the original code for you if not they'll probably re-set it for you. Thumbs Up $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

If its the originally fitted CD player then yes, the dealer can look up (there's usually a charge depending on the dealer) but if its been changed then will be more difficult. Mark S

Just in case you haven't found it in the manual:

Quote:
The vehicle is delivered to the user with a security code card; the user must enter the
code using the numeric (radio preset) buttons to resume operation of the head unit. For
example, if the code is 1234 the user must press the number 1 button once, the number 2
button twice, the number 3 button three times and the number 4 button four times followed
by a single press of the number 5 button to complete the code input process.

In the event that the head unit code card is lost, the user should seek advice from the dealer to
retrieve the code for their head unit. The user will be required to produce some form of proof
that they are the rightful owner of the vehicle e.g. the log book or a purchase receipt (if
bought second hand, for example) before the dealer is authorised to issue the code. This
condition is imposed to prevent stolen head units being used.

It worked for me - maybe you have an incorrect code? Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Can't remember exactly how I did it but according to my handbook, you input the code with buttons 1-4 in order, then press RND (which is also button 3) again. Not 5. It's not exactly obvious but I'm pretty sure that's what I did. It may differ between models and year.

You have to wait an hour after a 3rd failed attempt. Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Perhaps your entering it the wrong way. say you have code of 4556
Press 1 4x times
press 2 5x times
press 3 5x times
press 4 6x times
Then usually there is a final key (probably 5) to set it. Check the manual for details though...
I've known an OE radio for another vehicle (Renault) that worked in this way/ $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Just in case it gets lost, on mine (with the aux in at the front) it's not 5 to finish but button 3 again... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
