Considering a soft top conversion for my Crew Cab
I am looking at the www.allwheeltrim.co.uk
full conversion to soft top for my Crew Cab. Anybody has any experience with them?

yes and no, yes it's great for summer, but no for everything else, the structural rigidity is going to be SERIOUSLY compromised, in case of a roll over, your Censored . if you were to fit a full external Protection and Performance roll cage, I'd be well up for seeing the results. However, it kind of doesn't seem right without one. Maybe it's just because it's different, it seems weird! Thumbs Up Laughing 110 Tdci Double Cab

Also, it would be incredibly noisy without and insulation behind the rear bulkhead. Food for thought! Laughing 110 Tdci Double Cab

Turned our 90 into a soft top for 6 months and hell was it noisy, wet, cold and chuffing awkward to remove and refit the mohair. Anything above 45 was bordering on permanent hearing damage.

And it looked..... well, how do I put this; a series looks fine with canvas. Newer ones have something of the only gay in the village about them.

If you do go for it, a Safety Devices or similar bar is essential for mounting the seatbelts and giving you even the slimmest chance in a crash. You have to butcher the capping to the rear tub to fit the roll bar, but cappings can be replaced. You'll also have to fit a number of tenax studs or similar, which SHOULD go in existing rivet holes, but I found I had a drill anything up to 1" either side of some of the existing holes due to LR "tolerance" and similar in the exmoor hood.

For what it will cost you, fork out for a series and keep your CC intact Thumbs Up

Thanks for the feedback. In fact the question was about allwheeltrim Laughing .
The question about the seat belts is a good one. I am waiting for the fitting instructions to see how that works. I am not too concerned about the noise, certainly not about the wet or the cold here. In fact I never put the roof down on my Mercedes convertible in the summer as it is too hot. But now until May, it is perfect temperature for it. Cool
As for as the idea of buying a Series, I had a 88 regular SIIA until recently, but it was not at all practical and it was really difficult to get my wife to come along. Plus the maximum bearable range is about 10 km and I do at least 40 km every day. No, the alternative, would be to buy a Jeep Wrangler 4 doors, but I don't want to do that. But as a 4 door convertible, it is brilliant (plus it has an automatic transmission).

What I am really looking for would be to just open the whole roof, keeping the crew cab rear part. Just take off the lid and put a soft top contraption of some sort.

A bit like that:
