Is it going to the same dealer it was 'fixed' by before? Steve.

it is yes.....
my personal opinion is that they're all as bad as each other (i'm probably wrong but to be honest that's how I feel now) I just wonder at what stage you say enough is enough? |

There are good ...and the <cough> not so good, if I were you I'd have had it taken elsewhere. Steve.

I think we have the same dealer, fortunatly for me my defender has not so far miss behaved, but its only just over 6k miles (an 11 reg as well). I massively feel sorry for you it must be extreamly frustrating, I stress at the slightest things that goes wrong with both my cars and find it extreamly annoying, stops me sleeping etc etc, this would be enough to make me a grumpy git for the whole Christmas period if not the whole time you have owned it. (for those that are thinking it, I know compared to health issues and family problems its just a car but when you have paid out hard earned cash you expect some level of quality and issues to be fixed) It looks to me that this has reached the point of enough is enough, do you know where you stand legally and what are Land Rover Head Office saying. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

didn't see you parked up at the scott arms yesterday did I (soft top)? if so I was parked behind in the black free lander sounds like you and I have more than just dealer and vehicle in common.......stressed out.....I've got no hair left (well very little) - seriously it does stress and Pe me off big time .... far more so than many could relate to. I've been in touch / am in touch with LR customer services and their response till no is don't worry you've still got lots of warrany left ! is it just me or are they missing the point......its not really the response I was looking for. Although I'm gonna give them this opportunity to fix things I'm at the point where I'd like to know where I stand legally......can anyone enlighten me? |

AAARRRGHHHH
its like talking to a brick wall. just come off the phone to lr customer care. that i can remeber I've taken it in for warranty or diagnostics 11 times in 24 months and now its in again. its been off the road twice for 4 weeks and several times for 1 or 2 week visits. had a poxy 2 door hatch on 1 occassion for 4 weeks. i guess this visit is gonna be for 3 plus weeks. i've been moaning about the same problem since day one but they just aren't listening. I suspect they'll replace a couple of parts again but not resolve the core issue ! i've started to put a letter together but suspect they'll just brickwall it like my phone calls? if the letter doesn't work where do i stand legally cos i can't afford to be fobbed off - and where should i go to get the right advice - more importantly what constitutes it being acceptable and not acceptable? |

Maybe it's time to get and independent inspection and report to quantify your problems (must be someone in the Birmingham area who knows about landrovers ), then you'll know that no one is messing with your head.
With that in your hand you might be in a better position to approach landrover. That way you may circumvent some of the "they are all like that sir" possibilities. Good luck and have a good Christmas. Dj 1989 200tdi 90 csw 2011 110 usw Orkney grey Buy British 🇬🇧 Defender Clothing Designs available at http://www.rangesports.com/acatalog/Defender-Stuff.html |

Forget the phone. Phonecalls do not give you an auditable trail and can be denied! Read my posts again on page one, place your frustrations aside and keep it polite! If you take the correct course of action giving them sufficient time to reach a happy resolution and it doesn't happen, then you have excellent ammunition to seek recompense via a solicitor (which you will initially have to shell out for) or Trading Standards may be able to give you a few good pointers! 'Going off on one' inevitably achieves nowt! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

^^He is right you know^^ Reread my post on the first page too, unless you are out in the wilds with no other place to choose from I seriously think you should consider getting it to another dealer otherwise you are just going to get the same kind of service and "fix" as you have had before! Steve.

thought I'd left a response already but had some trouble with my wireless connections and it obviously didn't get through the other day.
I've started to put a letter together as I had taken on board your previous comments. hopefully will collect a record of dealer visits tomorrow which will be relayed in letter together with photos etc. anyone up for commenting on letter before a trip to the post office? just come off the phone to the dealers and new oil seals on order and hopefully this is going to put every right ...... I really don't see this sorting out the issues but as ever I stand to be corrected. |

all being well I get the car back tomorrow.......
flaming FF - 24 mpg !! thats worse than the 110 ? any how dealer and LR customer services have been on the phone today....nothing to report. had a copy of warranty works carried out to date at dealers......this is warranty work and not services or visits to dealers to explain concerns etc or visits to arrange visits for warranty work....13 of them. thats warranty work every other month since I've had it. circa 4 months off the road - not happy. so lets see whats what when I get her back with near seals....hmmm. ps. HAPPY NEW YEAR. |
