Erratic Driver side Wiper
12 plate 90 with intermittent wiper mode about 10% of the time it works correctly.

Stopping at the horizontal position and vertical position about 0.5-1" from the vertical edge of the windscreen.

80% of the time it passes over the bottom windscreen seal.

10% of the time it goes over the the bottom edge and the vertical edge of the winscreen.

Any clues folks?

Brendan

Passenger side works fine/

Arm moving on the spindle ?

Check the retaining nut is done up. If it is could be worn splines on the shaft or arm ?

could be a knackered wiper wheel box gear or rack? try pushing it back and forth when parked if it moved more than about 5 degrees then call on your warranty had the same fault on a 1961 mini but was easy to access on that DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Mine was a cock hair out of alligment Brendan - which irritated me, so I adjusted it, but you will need a small 'puller' to do it, then re-tighten, maybe yours is a bit loose? Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....

Managed to compare the wipers in park position on the 3 year old 110 and the 6 month old 90.

Movement on wipers on 110 about 1/2" on the 90 about 4"

Booked in at Copleys as think it is more then a simple alignment or nut tightening as no obvious movement on spindle.

Ours sis this.

Was the wiper gears. Plastic on a TDCI whereas they were metal on a TDi. Not sure about TD5 ones. Progress 1951 80" S1 2.0

the 110 does this, i just had the dash out to replace the passenger wheel box and know the drivers side wiper has started to stop below the windscreen Big Cry i have sorted it by taking the wiper off, then turning the wipers on once and sticking it back on cured it Thumbs Up CSK Automotive
