I'm after an intercooler, was wondering if anyone has first hand experience of the Britpart ones? I know I should probably buy a premium branded one, but the allure of the blue boxes is great...

You meant the low price is great! lol. I would say they do the job nearly as well but no where near the same quality control! you need to have a word with a few site sponsors.

Beware, I’ve never had a Britpart part that didn’t come with a problem. Mostly solvable, but why can’t they supply parts that do what they should, first time?

Same here, having a power steering pump that fails after 12 miles isn't acceptable, even though they said that because it worked at first, it proved that the product was up to standard. Up to standard my An engine to TDi for! "Land Rover- Proudly turning drivers into mechanics since 1948" |

Hi
I think intercoolers are one of those things you get what you pay for. Cheap ones have glued in cores, may not flow as well and may crack if they see too much boost. Mine is an IRB supplied Intercooler, very well made. I would spend a little more here, the Britpart are 400 + ? and a good one 500? Not much in it. Steve |

By the title you picked for the thread I think you really know the answer already. Buy right and buy once.

I know, I know, I just cannot resist a bargain, I'm interested to know if anyone has had a good experience? (Bad news travels much faster than good!) |

Just remember you have to be a rich man to afford to buy cheap!
Buy cheap, pay twice etc. Would I use a Britpart one???? Lets say I got an Aiisport one from Pete at BAS. Am sure that Gary at Alive and Ian at IRB would all do intercoolers. So dare I say why not buy from one of the forum sponsors? At least you know how good their reputations are. Brendan |

It's only a bargain if it's something decent for lower than it's true value.
Britpart don't supply bargains, they supply cheap, nasty rubbish. |
