If your motor has been running normally up to now take a quick look at the diesel, if there's a water trap drain some out or crack a feed pipe near the pump and take a look. You could have picked up some watery diesel at a recent fill up, just think garages, wet weather, underground tanks. Might have pulled some diluted diesel through and at motorway speeds it will be damn cold on the fuel lines under the motor.

Sounds like water or a part blocked filter to me.

Friend of mine had a 53 plate yaris that would start and run, when you stopped the engine is just wouldn't start again till you re-primed the fuel system. The injector o-rings where cracked so letting air in the system. Doesn't sound like that's what's at fault but could be worth a check if problem persist!

Don't know how the tanks on these are vented, but it could be something as simple as ice forming in the vent, preventing from getting air in and creating a partial vacuum in the tank. Some cars vent through the keyhole in the fuel cap.

I put it down to driving a Much inferior vehicle.
I had a guy in this last week with exactly the same issue- just changed the fuel filter and he is back to happy motoring. But with him it was because for 6 years he has never gone below 1/4 tank and then his missus let it go to nearly empty ![]() The car in front is a Toymota ![]() Glyn ![]() ![]() |

You haven't filled up at a Morrisons station have you? There appears to be lots of contaminated diesel, I read about it last week in one of the newspapers. I went to a garage here on the island a couple of weeks ago and the mechanic was repairing a new Skoda that had just filled up the diesel looked like used engine oil
