I've got a pretender-lenser, It appears to have been made in the same factory, bought it in costco, twin pack for about £15 IIRC. One for Mrs (Vet!) and one for Defendering

I have had a Petzel Tikka for at least 8 years (free gift with LRO subs) and the batteries are still going strong!!! Ok for reading in tent but not so good for night biking etc.

My other half has the Alpkit one, but I can't be doing with all the gubbins with the lead and battery pack at the back and extra top head strap.
I have a Petzl Tikka - not as bright as some of the newer ones but as others have said, the batteries last ages and the strap is really east to adjust. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/ Yorkshire Off Road Club - http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net |

What Dave k said, the alpkit gamma is good value and robust, like most Alpkit stuff.

I have a 2000lumen LED Headtorch. Not designed to be a headtorch, it's an off-road Mountain bike light, but I have a head strap for it.
Battery is a bit big though, oh and it's £117, but it'll light up a fair bit of darkness. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Bit late now but I have an Alpkit too and the battery cover clips are renowned for snapping off. Alpkit will replace them but not much use to you if you're abroad. Might be worth contacting them for the one that's just "broken" on you so you have a spare... failing that a bit of duct tape holds it together - ask me how I know |

I noticed a cyclist last night with an awesome headlight .. they really are good nowadays, nothing like my old "everready" grey light from the 70's |
