Mine chafed underneath and on top where it was touching the bonnet. Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Maybe it's the distance travelled rather than how many years that defines how worn they get?

About the same as mine - I have to admit I gave up with mine as it was obviously fouling the bonnet and seemed to be making more noise (I used a dB meter at various RPMs). There may also have been some heat issues with a dodgy CHT sensor but that's far from certain.
Not slating the blanket as many members swear by it. I just reckon the stick-on stuff would be better for me. Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

is there no way to stick the blanket to the bonnet lid? maybe that would work and avoid the rubbing?

I think the weight would be the problem - it's basically a lead sheet and bloody heavy which is why it should work. I doubt any glue would hold it and the bonnet would be even heavier... mine already has plate on it Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Took mine off after 10 days of use.
I reckon the inside was louder with the blanket! Got it in the garage if anybody is interested! |

Really? just goes to show.. I was convinced these things worked wonders, looks like they are a bit useless. |

Some people swear by them but I expect a lot depends upon the engine. Pumas are much quieter than older models anyway so the gains might not be as great as with e.g. a TD5. I didn't notice any improvement, so when it started looking tatty, I just took it off to lose weight. Wish I could do that to myself
