Brendan - you completely read my statement incorrectly.

Concerning statistics, a while ago there was a BBC news report about how the NHS was failing to meet its target for "average" treatment delays, about 6 months I think. The important looking NHS manager actually stood there and said that the target was unrealistic and that they were going to improve the statistics by increasing it to 8 months
 I nearly fell of my chair  I wonder if crime statistics are treated the same way...
In comparison (in Munich), someone once took off my wing mirror when driving past, slowed down, then drove away when he realised I wasn't in the car. Driving from ANY accident (even bumping a number plate) is a criminal offence here. I got part of the plate and knew it was a white van. The police took paint samples from my broken mirror, tracked the  down and removed his licence for a year. I even got compensation (he was lucky he was insured...) 
Wife wants to tour the UK in the 110 next year but I'm seriously considering hiring something "less desirable"  Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Had a similar thing this week, shed broken into and scums have taken an outboard engine and chainsaw

The thing is, this forum is not representative of "Defender reliability in the UK" as many of us only joined because we were the ones with problems (skews the statistics)
However, we (excluding me but including by brother-in-law) are representative of "living in the UK" (nothing to do with Defenders) and all have experienced thefts and vandalism of various sorts in the past few years. Can't remember if there was a point but I'm off to see Deep Purple so have a good evening all Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Some people on here must be living somewhere different to me. and in a different world  .....this country is bad full of crime and the coppers don,t give a Sh 1t ......sorry they do if its for traffic offences. Si not small minded at all......most coppers are fine mate... but the problem is as in any job you get to deal with dick heads all the time
and you have your budgets so most of the time its a wast of time even calling the police.... only if you need a crime number NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |

funny you should say that Karl, dad pulled up today to a copper on a bike doing speed checks, with a lengthy conversation with him which included alot of swearing
 this copper was sound as a pound and agreed completly with the state of the country the unwanted immigrants over here and just how petty some officers can be, Dad then turned around and said i spose you will want to do me for my illegal numberplate now  ( his font is different on his plate ) the copper laughed shook his hand and off he went, so yes there are some nice ones out there CSK Automotive

Fair play Chris, one of my mates is a copper and he tells me what go's on.... you would be shocked what they get up to and the way they think of the Jo public...

my mates dad is a copper- one morning i saw a fiesta behind going for it so i decided to put my foot down in the 90 ( blue td5 ) was going for it on the industrial estate when the traffic lights turned red the fiesta pulled up beside me and all i could see was a big jacket with a walky talkie on his pocket he pointed and laughed CSK Automotive

Out came the window today, eventually
know need to order the glass to go in so at the moment we used silver hostage tape so the 110 looks like a utility station wagon at the moment and know he prefers the look of utilitys and so do i alot now for the new door
