ABS and TC fault
Hello All

Our 110 developed a strange fault last week. On starting the car and driving off the ABS and TC kicked in on a dry flat road. I stopped, turned off and on again but the same happened. I drove on about 20ft with the TC chattering away when it suddenly stopped and the ABS and TC lights came on and stayed on. Lucky the Landy was booked in for other warranty work so I just added it to the list.

I had a call yesterday to confirm it was ok to return the vehicle and that everything was fixed. I received a call this morning to say the fault had returned. After enquiring into what they had done to remedy the ABS/TC fault they stated they had just cleared the fault at the ECU and then could not replicate the problem or find a fault and so had arranged the return.

I received a further call stating the fault was a sensor cable that had been "chewed through by a rat or something" and it would cost £120 to replace.

You can imagine my indignation at this and my frustration as to why a broken cable was missed during the initial check.

Has anyone else experienced a broken or chewed sensor cable or am I being taken for an easy touch?

One good thing though is the Freelander they have given to us a courtesy car. they are a lot nicer than I thought. I don't think I would be happy owning one though.

I have, and it was replaced for free. It was the wiring that went to the rear abs sensors.

Rats have chewed it........ Doubtfull. We have huge rat problems out here in Cyprus and they have chewed through plastic- ate washer bottle lids, carpets but never anything like that.

From what I remember there are a few people who have had problems with the routing of the wheel speed sensor cables which caused them to rub/ get crushed and fail.

Sounds like they can't be bothered putting it through warranty claim.

I endured a similar fault as Glyn stated was down to cable routing. All the following are related to the same/similar defect:
