Craddock are selling this kit. It's not cheap but may be a more modern equivalent to CP. any experience of using or fitting? |

I think Odin is referring to THIS
If you read the ad on ebay you will find this
Why is it better then chequer plate? Am no sure. One point I will make is that it appears only in flat section. Why not bend it to follow the shape of the wing better? Design could be better in my opinion. Better then chequer plate? Hummm Brendan PS Edited to add Craddocks £150 + VAT = £180 + delivery maybe. ebay £135 including delivery |

Plus the chequer pattern stops slipping when climbing around on your landy where as I'm guessing if that gets wet you'll be on your ass in seconds

Cannot see any benefit in fitting these instead of chequer plate.

I don't think it's meant for climbing on. I think it is a cosmetic "rugged" thingy, perhaps to stop the kids school bags from scratching the bonnet?

If the kids are putting their schoolbags on the bonnet your not beating them hard enough

Nor I. Cannot see the point of having "Defender" lettering cut out from the bonnet plate either, just a marketing ploy to encourage those image conscious types who are more concerned with looks than anything else to part with their money. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

If youre going to drill the bodywork, do it for the proper stuff. Cant see the point in it really unless a big cuttout 'Defender' makes your Defender even more easily identifiable as a Defender.

I personally don't think it's an 'alternative for chequerplate' but more of a styling extra. I quite like it despite it's non-functionality!
![]() Due to my roof rack though I certainly wouldn't have anything else but chequerplate as on the odd occasion I've used it the chequerplate is certainly 'reassuring' under foot. ![]() Click image to enlarge If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! I was gonna ask: WHY?
But I see from a later post that its purpose is “… to enhance the agressive look of the defender”. Well, that’s it then - my order is on its way, can’t wait to impress everybody at the next “Instead Of The Battle” meet. Peter |
