For those who have these fitted, is the idea to use the included rubber seal once first removing the corresponding door seal or should I leave the door seal in place?
Seems like too many seals to me. |

Just to add to the confusion....The seals supplied with the kit were redundant in my case as I have sill chequerplate. The Entreq strips slot behind the chequer.

Good advice for when I fit the rear door strip.
I have sill chequer (Land Rover) too but my strips don't see to slot behind. My strips are the pre-12 ones. |

4) Thoroughly clean and degrease the entrance area
5) At the door bases, remove the factory installed sealing strips and the small foam pads (in case they're still there). Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

another thing to note on the door strips, post MY2011 you need the non-seal version because the OEM door seals changed

At the risk of critising the emperors new clothes, the MY11 ones arn't worth the effort. They do not fit very well, and the additional aesthetic are marginal. IMHO of course, your experience may be better.

I got mine mostly to pin the carpets down. Also protect the passenger sill from the bloody door seal (also+grit) scraping the paint off Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

First thing I noticed when I bought the car was that it looked odd and unfinished without a strip to hold the carpet down.
Looks much neater now. In fact being all beautifully brushed and etched I'll probably go out of my way to avoid treading on it which is hardly thee point. Looks great at the back now especially with a full compliment of ss bolts in the rear cross member. Tyres next. |
