SWMBO had exactly the same sort of thing with high blood pressure, went on a slimming world diet I went along with it for support.
She has lost 2 1/2 stone and is now in size 8 skinny jeans, I've lost three stone and all blood pressure issues are resolved. To echo other members, its amazing what losing a bit of weight does when you get over 40 Keith |

Thanks all
Hopefully will see doc who actually listens early next week. Also planning to lose 6kg each by next Feb - that will get her to a BMI of around 26 and slightly overweight - I honestly think BMIs are a bit optimistic Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

BMI wasn't designed to be used on individuals and should be used for population studies, to assess large amounts of people all at once. Don't worry if you're a bit out, the doctor told me I was obese and I'd just done my 6th Ironman the week before and was as lean as I'd ever been, below 10% body fat, so it doesn't work for everyone. Weight loss is pretty easy, all you have to do is want to do it and you'll conquer it. Having said that, don't get too hung up on the weight element, it's much better to think about a fit, active lifestyle rather than concentrate on weight. |
