Puma 2.2 first service
I'd be interested to know views on service costs. I was originally quoted £410 by my local dealership which was then reduced to £367 when I told then I thought this somewhat high for what amounts, according to the schedule I have, to an engine oil change and a series of checks. I've also had a quote from a non franchised organisation that serviced my previous Defender for over £100 less than this.
With regard to the warranty am I obliged to have my vehicle serviced by a LR dealership or can I choose where to take it?

You can take it anywhere and as long as they use genuine parts and issue a printed invoice the warranty will be valid. However, if you do you may find your dealer becomes less helpful in a warranty claim situation. Some warranty claims are at dealer discretion, such ad rust, and if there's no history of you on their system they might be inclined towards not helping. On the other hand you might have a great relationship with them and everything will be fine but you'll have to weigh that up yourself and decide if the money saved is worth it.

For what it's worth, I went to the dealer for the first service after spending time thinking the same thoughts.

As andy said Thumbs Up

Despite being in the trade [and working for a lease hire maintanace company] i had my one and two year services carried out by LR dealers simply for peace of mind regarding warranty issues.

Most can be 'negotiated' into a price drop, my one year service was less than £200, and second year £360

Go haggle ... they want the business, make them earn it Cool Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.
