Oil in coolant ?
Hi everyone, a question for you - I'm getting oil (black sludge) in my header tank, the engine oil is clean as a whistle however. Am I correct in thinking that the coolant pipes run through the oil filter at some point ? I know on some engines this is the case - the TD5 90 is a new engine to me as I've always had 200tdi's or V8's so haven't really had many dealings with it - YET Cool

Thanks in advance

Mark

I can get a genuine oil cooler & seals for about £250 Rolling Eyes - thing is that my Porsche cayenne needs fixing as well as my Discovery & my work van - having just taxed the lot it's a very expensive time Shocked

Good job my wife docent know how much I spend Cool

Ment to add that I'm steering well clear of Britpart - I changed the water pump on my disco & the bearing has gone in less than 500 miles Evil or Very Mad

hi, following replacement of the cooler/seals
/pipes whats the best way to flush the oil out of the coolant system? someone told me to fill up with water & bleach - run up the engine to temperature then drain it all out repeating this a few times - how does that sound to you guys ?

Best way is using water and clothes washing liquid. Using bleach won't work as it does not dissolve oil it kills germs..

Andy

Ps stop Censored about and go and get some scratches on it, then it will be more reliable as it will be happy.
