Did the gauze filter fall out when u changed the reg or has any got in the fuel system is there any smoke

i took the gauze filter out to check/clean it, i remember putting it back but it could of fell out i suppose, can i remove the regulator to check and just fit a new gasket and o ring or is it a new regulator aswell, the fuel filter has been changed and it doesnt appear to smoke any worse than any other td5. If at first you don't succeed, hit it harder or get someone else to do it.

When I first fitted the custom pump/filter system to Pam's I used a standard oil pressure sender/gauge as they are a LOT cheaper than fuel pressure gauges for some reason. Worked well and helped diagnose the problem we were having at the time.
I temporarily fitted an inline T gauge adaptor for it between the pump and the regulator, next to the regulator. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Steve B, good thinking on trying another one, if it makes a difference then great, if not i can always re sell the new one, ive ran injector cleaner through it, its not been on a nanocom, just hawkeye and only faults were things not fitted like ABS and EGR which has long gone. Thinking about it, its only since fitting a new regulator it started so why have i not thought to change it before in case the replacement (genuine) was faulty. If at first you don't succeed, hit it harder or get someone else to do it.

i think i might take you up on that offer prior to just trying a new regulator, im sure it would be cheaper to test it first, just need to get of work for a few hours now, hmm If at first you don't succeed, hit it harder or get someone else to do it.
