When the engines run in, are you still up for a rolling road shoot out day against my 2.4 puma?

It's not the same as yours anymore BHP isn't the important factor... Torque is what we want to see! Fair snuff I know it ain't the same I've got a bigger engine lol
You still got the same turbo though mines sitting on the shelf in the shed And also have you still got the BAS map on it because mine will only be a 3.2 BAS map Which is BAS+BAS= pointless ? 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

I get 460nm from the 2.2 without changing any parts.... I.e. turbo. So more to come from a 2.4 Ian IRB The home of the first modified Keswick Green 90 - and the first 2.4 Puma through both the 200bhp and 550Nm barriers. www.IRBdevelopments.com www.facebook.com/irbdevelopments www.integrated316.com www.facebook.com/integrated316 |

so your post saying your only gaining 9bhp and a gain of 70nm max is aload of then
i think some dyno proof is needed personally i think if you want to prove something why not ask BAS to do it in his truck ? his is more your level mine weighs alot more and is generaly a complete different beast to yours steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

Ian, lay of the Hobnobs lol the chocolate is making you type silly things
With no mechanical or hardware changes at all to the 2.2. or 2.4 and only giving it an electronic remap of by adjusting the existing factory calibration tuning to give more power & torque to beat a 3.2 that has also had only an electrnoic remap in the same way will be making it like an erection after a night out IF it were possibile to make a 2.4 with more power & torque than a 3.2 with the same electronic remap modifications then it may go hard and strong just as an erection does, but it wont last long " and for sure would end up here in the picture below a few k down the line you know this" thats IF the small clutch even holds the power where as the 3.2 would still be going strong. My 3.2 is here and nearly done its 1k miles before it hits the dyno if you want the keys you only need to ask, but i think its pointless and i think this thread is turning silly now lol the two engines simply cant be compared. IF you can make a 2.4tdci to match or better a tuned 3.2 with only the same electronic modifications why did ford make a 3.2 in the first place and not just get you or me to tune the existing 2.4 if its capable of matching power? While we are both being silly, the picture below shows a box which gives tested on a Dyno Dynamics dyno 18bhp and 65Nm of torque on a 2.2 and 2.4tdci. http://www.racechip.de/en/chiptuning/ford/...i-81kw.php I agree its not as much as whats stated on their web site but its a good gain for the price. Im the first to agree I hate tuning boxes with a passion due to the way they work but this option does leave some remaps with simlar gains a little expencive in comparison. Click image to enlarge Can we now please let the thread get back to normal which is a 3.2 as its getting silly. Pete Last edited by bell-auto-services on 15th Nov 2012 7:04pm.
