Hi Guys,
I'm looking for an adaptor that will allow me to carry my Hi-Lift Jack on the back door with the spare wheel. I've seen a couple about, but never been able to talk to the driver about them. Looking for something I can buy rather than build! Web search has failed to come up with anything to date. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Kaymar in Australia make one but I would STRONGLY recommend that you replace the wheel carrier with a much stronger unit. The standard Defender carrier with tyre and jack will drop the door on the hinges.
http://www.kaymar.com.au/accessories/carri...sories.php Also by placing the jack like that you risk dragging it on rear departure. If you buy something like the Bearmach carriers you would risk cracking it very easily. Scorpion Racing (yeah I know and they've gone I believe) made one with a Jack stand on the hinge. This is a much better idea. 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |

Hello,
If I can: http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/OFF_ROAD/J...wards.html And for Diesel_jim: http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/OFF_ROAD/J...Cover.html If you use it with some good grease, it will be great. |

Good idea that.... back when i fitted the jack on the back (about 10 years ago) you coudln't get the covers for them. I tried with wrapping plastic around them, but it was just too much of a pain. And then when i reversed into a ditch and bent the jack, i moved it inside the vehicle... no more problems! (and less likely to get stolen) |

I've got one of these
http://www.wizardbilt.com/Jack%20Racks.htm Originally on my old Disco but won't be fitting it until I have a swingaway wheel carrier though. And then I tend just to leave the back plate in place and only use it to mount the jack when i'm laning/off roading. MAD COW 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |

Have a look at extreme4x4ltd.co.uk They list complete rear wheel carrier with hi-lift carrier at £250.70 incl . vat looks to me like Scorpion Racing ressurrected under different name as much of the kit incl. this carrier is identical Just one comment on the carrier, I bought one for the V8 110 3 years ago, very strong but powder coating or paint was straight onto steel, no zinc plating underneath that I can see, so some parts now flaking off. have just cleaned it off and repainted, left it on the v8, but looks like new again. 1981 series 3 swb gone 1986 v8 110 station wagon current 2009 puma 110 xs utility station wagon latest addition |

A little?
You have to ask why Scorpion went bust twice? Although at least Extreme are up front and publish their prices, something Scorpion never did. And I must say I was impressed when I visited Scorpion Racing Mark 1, Colin Aldred (the boss then) knew his stuff about suspension. I bought some 2" lift springs for my Disco and was very impressed with the ride and performance. Mind you I went to Paddocks for my shocks, bushes, etc as they were considerably cheaper for the same thing MAD COW 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |
