IFAIK the only way to change to miles is to replace the instrument binnacle, then have LR reprogram it to the ECU

When I imported my truck from CH to GB I replaced the instrument decal because KM or Miles are acceptable for measuring the total distance.

The units do look the same Miles & KMs it's probably just a software change

Very simple change. I had "opposite" problem.

Ordered new binnacle in MPH. Simple screw driver to remove trim and the binnacle just lifts out and has simple plug in bag.

I've now got an extra binnacle in KM...........don't know how much to ship to Singapore Smile

I ordered a left-hand-steering Defender as I do a considerable amount of European travel; in effect Land Rover pulled a Belgian spec one off the line, added a UK spec alarm and other bits to it and sent it to my dealer.

Although it was to be UK registered, I had to scream a bit before they replaced the headlamp lenses for left-hand-dip and swapped the positions of the reversing and rear fog lamps and, more importantly, changed the kmh only speedo to a UK one, i.e. one with both mph and kph markings.

Straightforward physical swap as nikojo says, BUT the dealer experienced quite a bit of trouble matching it up to the electrickery.

My guess is that the choice is between kmh speedo and km trip, or mph/kmh speedo with mph trip.

For me, the word miles is shown in the digital display, it's not a physical print, mine is a 2.2 puma by the way, Si I thought it would be a simple program. If I can use your km display, would really appreciate it, will check with my workshop firsy

I know it has been a while since your post, did you have to have the new binnacle programmed to the Landy ECU, I have had conflicting info on this. I want to swap a UK MPH/KPH unit to a KPH unit with odometer in KPH.
