2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Chawton White

Sometimes he doesn't want to start

Hello,

Need your help again.

Sometimes, when the engine is hot, my father's Puma doesn't want to start. He had to get off the key close the doors and open them. And then, he starts.

Does anyone know it.

Happens with my TD5 but not recently.
Has to be a hiccup in the imobiliser.

2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Alaska White

sounds like the auto imobilisation function. If you switch of engine and take keys out without locking, the Defender thinks you have forgotten to lock it and switches on the imobiliser. it took me a few weeks to get used to this, just press unlock before you try and start again.

Have to agree with Nicks, many caught out initially by this immobiliser set up. Generally happens when visiting filling station.

Yup! That's when it used to happen to me. Got into the habit of locking it when I went to pay after I'd fitted a few nickable gismos.

The distance you fob is has an effect on the alarm operation Mike
