I've got a Jet tent from Brendan, still made by Oz tent but I'm impressed with the quality. Probably as expensive as a Oz tent but does pack small enough to go into the back of a 90 & Brendan did a great deal

Well I do not think I have to do a declaration of interest here
After over a 100 views no alternatives have been suggested! I have seen an alternative 'Oztent' however would I want to use one, let alone buy one? NO WAY Why? Inferior materials and inferior construction methods. Just another company trying to get around patents and live off a more successful company reputation. Brendan |

Wasn't one of the sponsors developing a version? It's all gone quiet now.
For something that's pretty close in terms of convenience then one of the larger Khyams would be worth considering, although obviously not made from the same type of material. It depends on what you want from your tent.
For quick erection a rooftop tent would give you the speed of an Oztent, but not the space. If you like the feel and ambience of the poly-cotton canvas and like to be on the ground, you could consider a safari bow-tent from, e.g, Campmor. If you want plenty of space, how about a tipi / Lavvu? This would give you the benefit of a stove as well. Or an ex-army frame tent from someone like Anchor Supplies, which you can attach the Landy to. I have an RV4 with side and front panels and footprint which I'm considering selling and replacing with a Lavvu. 2012 Defender Utility Wagon 1981 SIII 88 inch SW Follow our blog: www.newlifeinnorthernscotland.blogspot.co.uk |

There are at least a couple of alternatives makes (I put links up to them a while ago) VERY similar to an OzTent but by the sound of it, it would be worth PM,ing Leeds before you buy !

Go on ebay and look up Carp Bivi's, 1/4 of the price of adventure / branded tents, better quality built to last and most have two or three skins. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.
